Ya know what? This is just sooooooooooo bomb.
Wait, wait, wait…
How’s he have a picture of his parents?
If I remember correctly most Spartan III’s were orphans ?
Don’t see how he can’t have a picture.
This ad has me intrigued and makes me want to see the full 2 minute version.
All Spartan III’s (if I remember correctly) were kidnapped from colonial world, they all were around the age of ten.
So I see it as impossible that any Spartan would know their parents. It was considered a risk by ONI.
hoops, I mixed up the Spartan programmes. The Chief was from Spartan II, Carter from III but the later Spartan III’s more improved? It used more experimental genetics more similar to the Spartan II’s mental modification (manipulating primal instinct), because Kurt did not want to see his Spartans die.
PS. Still think most Spartan III’s were kidnapped from colonial world, no way could ONI muster up such a large number of candidates for Spartan III’s (witch were more numerous than the II’s)
On page 70 of Ghosts of Onyx, we see that the initial, Alpha, group of Spartan-IIIs have all lost their loved ones due to Covenant assault. There was no “risk” of a Spartan knowing their parents. In fact, it was considered by Kurt to be their main motivation.
Halo Reach should pre-date the spartan IIIs only spartan IIs were in service at the time.
never mind after revising the trailer once more I see that it says “spartan IIIs” insert foot in mouth, I shall re-read my halo books once more ( after the beta of course)
It’s a common misconception made by those who haven’t been following Reach as closely as I have but still study Halo canon. It arises from knowing that Halsey arrived on Onyx long after the Reach events, and that during that time the Gamma group of S-IIIs were just finishing training. It’s the Alpha and Beta groups we’re looking at on Reach.
I all this recent hype is for the beta, I can’t imagine what the actual release is going to be like
I liked it. However…
What concerned me was how non-Halo fans may portray Halo after this. I can see a lot of people thinking this is creepy or weird due to the whole needle thing.
Added bonus: A few less parents buying their 12 year old an “M” rated game! =D
Also, I found this comment from the article on Kotaku quite informative: http://kotaku.com/comment/22327103/
I kept thinking it was gonna cut to an epic battle scene between Spartans and Elites… but no. It was kinda disappointing after how awesome the ODST trailer was.
That said, there were some awesome visuals. And that suit of armor was sick.
I know I had the same thoughts going through my head and then bam nothing, but oh well, the armor did look pretty sick.
Don’t worry, this is only half of the trailer. I’d be willing to bet the really epic stuff happens in the second half (a la the ME2 cinematic trailer).
The video was sooo much win.
And yes, there shall be less 12 year olds yelling. Go bungie, go bungie
I’m stuck in a vicious cycle, I desprately want to know as much as possible about the Beta, but everything I find makes the wait until said Beta moreand more unbearable – CURSE YOU BUNGIE! – No wait, what am I saying!
Wait… I thought Spartan IIIs wore SPI armor. That did not look like SPI armor.
Waaaaiiiit again, we’re playing as a III and not a II? Well that’s no fun! I liked the Spartan IIs better than the Spartan IIIs.
Man I am so confused and potentially unhappy now.
That’s because it’s not. It’s the MJOLNIR Mark V. This was confirmed weeks ago. It’s a customized variant of the armor John wears in Halo: CE.
Well excuuuuse me Princess :p I’ve been going out of my way to avoid reading info on Reach. I don’t want any major spoilers.
Well excuse me for ruining it for you.
You’re excused.
My pants don’t even exist anymore!
Carter was/is (not shure) the oldest spartan to be “kidnapped”… shall we say…. he was 11 at the start…
Yeah, he was 31 when he recieved the MJOLNIR Mark V. for you noobs out there, that’s the armor you see in the video.
I saw the suit and instantly thought, I need that now!
Needs more animatronic Brutes.
I second that emotion!
It was fucking horrible. There is nothing else to say. I won’t start naming all of the inconsistencies.
All of your “inconsistencies” can prolly be disproved.
I know there have been a lot of people complaining about the canon but if you actual read everything out there youll find its pretty close except for parts you prolly dont even realize.
You don’t know squat.
I’d like you to share with me these disprovements. If you don’t have any, then don’t undermine my knowledge by assuming that I’m wrong, and that anything I say can be disproven. According to Halo: Ghost of Onyx, page 92 and onwards, nothing of what we saw in the trailer fits with the canon. Initiating the process himself? Being concious during it? Not a sterile environment? Where’are the surgeons? The process being over in less than a minute(yeah, short commercial, so that one I’ll let go), much fewer drugs than they recieved, and he didn’t recieve his MJOLNIR Mark V until he was 31. So please, don’t assume anything if you don’t know the facts yourself. You are the one who should actually read all of the stuff out there, and you would realize how far from canon that vieo is.
You’re right, but you don’t have to be so harsh about it. :/
^^ This.
I’m sorry, i don’t mean to be a nerdrager about it, but he just blatantly ignored to those actually knowledgeable about the Halo Universe, and made a bold claim without anything to back it up. So I tore him down. <3
A woman scorned hath no fury like a fan enraged.
Where is my live action Halo movie damn it. I want it! :-)
The pelican scene was soooo awesome.
I wonder if the serum gives instant girth to all parts of your body. I can imagine Hawty’s satisfied drool upon watching that scene.
I just can’t stop watching this ^_^
