Third Annual Bungie Day Community Project!

Bungie Day

The last day of June is quickly approaching, and that can only mean two things: my sweat output is significantly higher than it should be, and Bungie Day is almost here. While playing Halo is a mandatory celebratory festivity, participating in my annual community project is greatly appreciated as well! Two years ago we simply said thank you, and last year we reveled in the glory that is seven. This year I thought we’d go the Elizabeth Barrett Browning route. The official theme is “How do I love thee? Let me count the ways…” and the subject, of course, is Halo. Every submission, which may be in text, image, or video form, must start with the words I love. (Please consult the original poem located after the jump for sentence examples. Submissions may be as short or as long as you’d like.) Send me your personal contribution, preferably by Monday, July 5th, via the contact form for a community-written post that will be published on Bungie Day. Please make the title of your message “BUNGIE DAY 2010” and don’t forget to include your gamertag at the end. Thank you kindly!

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with a passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, — I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! — and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
