Spartans Never Die: A Halo 3 Charity Event

Halo 3 Charity HogOff

Whether you have a thing for the occasional splatter or you just like the feel of a massive turret quivering in your hands, Halo 3 Wheelmen has just the festivity for you. Taking place over the entire month of June is an event called the HogOff, the goal of which is to acquire the most wheelmen or the most hog turret kills. The entry fee is $1, and all the proceeds will be donated to the family of one of their members who recently lost his fight with cancer. Considering the prizes are various pieces of autographed Halo swag, the paltry asking fee truly is a meager offering. If you don’t have the time or desire to climb the Halo 3 Wheelmen leaderboards, fret not because they are also conducting random prize drawings from their entire pool of participants. So drive or don’t drive, gun or don’t gun, but support this worthy cause if you find yourself able. IceDevil, and every other MIA-classified Spartan, thank you.

Our ability to pull together is definitely one of my favorite things about the Halo community as well. :)

A buddy of mine died in a car crash. He was like the sickest Halo gamer i have seen.
We started a session of Halo 3 and wanted some of his buddies there so that we could all see each other again and play some Halo, cause we don’t see each other very often.
They called all their guys and stuff. We had over 300 people at a little garden in germany. That was something that touched me. Even though not everyone knew him personally, they were just sad that someone they just knew over the internet died. Someone that grew to their hearts.
I hope and am certain that this HogOff will be a huge succes. I will participate.

    Fo real!

It’s amazing how much someone we haven’t physically met can touch our lives. Thanks for sharing. :)

    A truly noble event.

  6. Only $1? Can we give more than that?

    • ComaToast says:

      Yes, unlimited entries.

      • Laughlyn says:

And on top of that each dollar donated is a seperate entry for the random drawings. $1 for 1 entry, $5 for 5 entries, ect.

        • Queen 0f Blades (Sonya 00101) says:

Oh, gosh, I didn’t want a bunch of entries, I just wanted to give money. I’ll get to giving when I get home.

    • bs angel says:

Yup! You get one entry per dollar for the random drawings. :)

  7. OH SHEEP DIP says:

I have been totally floored with H3Wheelmen and their act of kindness. I am so grateful for their massive efforts, all of the prize contributions and those who have donated. I even know of a person who has gone above and beyond to donate $150 to the Hogoff, as well as make a matching donation to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. A lot of surprising community support and love!

    Thank you so much everybody!!!

  8. Thanks for posting this Angel,

I signed up the first time i saw this! I never had the pleasure of playing with Ice Devil, but i’ve played with some of his clanmates. I thought no better way to honor a fallen comrade then to play the game he loved!

    Halo 4 ever!
