I happen to be an expert this subject.

First of all, portals can’t exist on a moving surface. Now i guess you could say that the earth is moving all the time and such, but it’s just a game mechanic.
Excluding that, we’d see the blue portal come out of itself expanding to infinity. We actually did something like this in a computer animation class once.
If i may link to someone, it’d probably end up a lot like this:

But with doors. And better spelling.

    • Doc says:

Second problem is that both portals are the same size. So one can’t fit into another, or the item it is on won’t be able to.

      • Omnicent says:

It’s taller than it is wide, flip it sideways (as in the picture) and your problem is solved.

        • Doc says:

Well then, that was a conclusion I just didn’t come too

    • DuracellDurrell says:

i think it would result in something more like this:

yea lets just say THATS F****** MESSED UP but slightly awesome

  3. Wrinklycat says:

    How babies are made

  4. FinAeros says:

It’s like putting a portable hole in a bag of holding back before 4E hit the worlds of D&D.

  5. Sean C84 says:

The Universe resets, collapsing into a singularity before another big bang occurs. Chuck Norris thinks: “Goddammit, not again”.

  6. flurf says:

Fairly sure the end result of the Portal Conundrum would be something like this

    • bs angel says:

LOL … so not what I was expecting!!

  7. ReverendTiki says:

How come I never realized the ASHPD looks like a penis?

    • Panncakez says:

Now, I’ll never be able to unsee that.

      D:

    • bs angel says:

      Hot.

      • iPurism says:

Don’t even think about. How awkward would it be if you accidentally made a portal in “there”.

        O_O

    • With claws?

      • iPurism says:

        I think you mean crabs.

Off-Topic: Wow, our sexual humor is so subtle, isn’t it.

    • staticrift says:

My first responce was “So the dildo goes through the portal?”

If it wasnt posted by bs angel the thought probably wouldnt have enterd my mind :)

reminds me of MS Paint Adventures

Problem Sleuth story starting here: http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=4&p=000946

the windows were “portals” to another dimension.

    • PikminGod says:

      that was my thought too!!

      • Fiesta says:

        Same here,actually.
Obviously we would end up with a Window Wreath.

  9. Omnicent says:

Huh. . . Well, you can’t put portals on a moving object for starters, when it starts to move, the portal disengages. If I was going to explain it in terms of how it stays open while the earth is moving, I’d say it has to do with the relative speed of the object, you and it are moving at the same rate (ignore the obvious flaw here plox) or perhaps it has to do with the speed of the object itself, it it’s going faster (or slower) than the Earth, the portal is unstable and disengages.

Next up, portals have a surface, seeing as you can’t shoot a portal through a portal to make a portal. (mind fuuuu-?) So when an active portal touches another active portal they would both deactivate, sheering off any matter that was in transition.

Another possibility is you end up with something that looks like a wide T with almost no bottom, as most of the material would come through, until the bottom of the portal got caught and stuck.

Running on dry here, but. . . Massive explosion that destroys the universe and creates a massive black hole.

Last but not least, it resets to an earlier save and Glados tells you off.

    • Billdebeast says:

“sheering off any matter that was in transition.”
halo 3 final level? maybe something happend…

    • Marksman says:

So, what if you put the Orange portal down. Then position the second panel as shown, THEN put the blue portal in? Hmm?

How, Portal can have a quantum mechanics book just dedicated to this one puzzle…

    • Marksman says:

I meant wow. And also, hey guys I’m back after a while and sorry for taking up an unnecessary reply.

  10. Overdoziz says:

Wouldn’t it (the blue portal panel) block itself and therefor would be impossible to get into the orange portal?

  11. NartFOpc says:

The blue portal would disappear the second you try to move it, duh.

  12. iPurism says:

Portal’s aren’t allowed on moving surfaces. However, this only apples to the relative object. If you put a portal on a cube, then the cube rolls down a slope, the portal disengages.

Also, if you do put a portal in another portal, this is the result.
    WARNING: MINDF*CK

    • Voicedwalnut says:

      ok thats awesome

      • iPurism says:

DON’T LOOK AT IT TOO LONG!
        It’ll get you high D:

        • Voicedwalnut says:

I’ll look at it for hours if I want to

  13. xLAS3RP01NT3Rx says:

This is what’s happening in the Large Hadron Collider.
    Omg singularity.

  14. Fogun says:

Welcome to three years ago. You’re a bit late, but I’m sure we can make some room here.

  15. Cant wait for portal 2.

  16. Awesome;Opossum;McCoy says:

    I think that’s called scissoring…

    <..>

    ^.^

  17. What, no Divide by Zero comments?

I’m thinking the world itself would collapse in on itself because the act of two portals intersecting would create some kind of black hole or vortex.

    • xLAS3RP01NT3Rx says:

Yeah probably, just don’t blow on it.
It’s like feedback on a mic.

  18. Thors toe says:

    Lmao

  19. Janaka says:

Seems Im late to the party..
Anyway, when I saw the picture at the bottom, I instantly though of Shoop Da Hoop, so after a brief visit to Paint…

Hmm, maybe I should have coloured the lips red?..

    • Hunter says:

So he’s giving it a blowjob? Wha-?

  20. Chris Haldor says:

    Ouch… I think my head broke…

  21. 123zc1 says:

    THIS is what would happen.

  22. MathChief says:

topologically speaking, this is just like a torus you cant see
