A comment on the site itself says something about syllables, but I don’t think that’s it.

    I really have no idea.

    • VYPER117 says:

It has 7 syllables, so it could be nothing but another numerical reference.

      • Maybe I’m retarded, but I counted 8. In-di-an oc-ean, pre-sent day.

        • Ben Of Bodom UK says:

Agreed, 8 was my count. Maybe 7 if you say it like ‘Injun’

        • Marksman says:

          Still 8.

That’s all I can make of it, anyone wish to add on?

    • liphttam1 says:

Well Indian Ocean, IO which is a moon of jupiter.

Jupiter was a god of thunder in roman mythology.

Bungie has that symbol of the hand holding lightning…. And wasn’t there also a eagle?

      • The eagle is a part of the Spartan symbol.

        • liphttam1 says:

Thanks, I was looking for that!

          Cyber Hug!

It’s where Microsoft is going to relocate all the X Box Live servers housed in Google’s floating data centers that are powered by wave action :)

  6. Brian says:

It’s the location of the opening scene in Top Gun. After the title montage, they show the aircraft carrier and the words on the screen say Indian Ocean, Present Day.

I’ve seen that movie too many times

    • Brian says:

the movie was released on May 16, maybe that’s a clue to a date.

      • xLAS3RP01NT3Rx says:

More stuff, you may be on to something.

    • bs angel says:

Tom Cruise is the lead voice actor in Halo: Reach! You heard it here first!

      • Captain Spark says:

        Please God, NOOOOOOOOOO

        • Elitearbiter says:

          Scientology spartans. OOOOOOOooohhh!

          May 3rd – May 16th?

        • Ben Of Bodom UK says:

          2 weeks sounds about right.

  7. rowboat 000 says:

There are pirates in the present day Indian Ocean. Pimps at Sea? Reach alpha?

  8. Panncakez says:

I pray that “Ocean” has nothing to do with our old buddies, “The Flood.” The Top Gun theory seems good, and the pirates one makes sense, but I’m not sure what it would have to do with Reach. Other than that, I’ve got nothing.

  9. GeneralCupcakes says:

Forward Unto Dawn crash into the Indian ocean, but that was in 2552 :|

    • Marksman says:

      2553. Barely, but 2553.
And Reach takes place in 2552 anyway, so…?

Maybe there’s an Indian Ocean on Reach. Maybe.

The Top Gun theory seems pretty solid, but what do a bunch of Fighter Pilots striving to be the best have to do with Re—
…Maybe Noble Six is from the Air Force of the UNSC (it does exist, it’s just not very big). This would explain the Parts of his service record that ONI didn’t want Carter to see. A pilot on the ground may not work. Fighter pilots are lone wolves, unless it’s a two-seater plane (F-14 Tomcat, from Top Gun). Maybe that is it. Maybe thats what the clue is.

      • Marksman says:

Wow, I found a technical answer to this on, and I link here for reference. Have a look:

    Clue to what?

  11. VYPER117 says:

    That phrase has 7 syllables. ind-ian o-cean, pre-sent day.

    • IcyTreats says:

      Nope, it’s got 8 dude. In-di-an o-cean, pre-sent day.

  12. DeepCee says:

Well that’s right next door to me

    • Marksman says:

      The Indian Ocean?
      …Are you Australian?

      • Marksman says:

OMG Last ODSteve you said “G Rated”. You are. And I feel dumb for not knowing. Did you ever say it, or am I just out-of-the-loop? I feel sad now.

  13. Louis Wu says:

After I saw the ViDoc, this came to mind:

    • bs angel says:

      Definitely a resemblance.

      • Marksman says:

        ’tis. Nice one Louis.

    • DeepCee says:

Tom Cruise is in the neighbourhood

      • Marksman says:

        Scientologically Terrific!

Top Gun (1986) More at IMDbPro ยป
Maverick is a hot pilot. When he encounters a pair of MiGs over the Persian Gulf, his wingman is clearly outflown and freaks. On almost no fuel, Maverick is able to talk him back down to the Carrier. When his wingman turns in his wings, Maverick is moved up in the standings and sent to the Top Gun Naval Flying School. There he fights the attitudes of the other pilots and an old story of his father’s death in combat that killed others due to his father’s error. Maverick struggles to be the best pilot, stepping on the toes of his other students and in a different way to Charlie, a civilian instructor to whom he is strongly attracted.

sounds to me like the main spartan got his position due to a death moving him up in standings
it was the plot to the game he was hinting at in the clue from the opening of top gun!!!

    • Marksman says:

You mean Lone Wolf and Kat = …
