2009 Best of Halo Awards: Accepting Nominations

The biggest games of the year have already been released and now you’re looking forward to the titles making their debut in 2010. That downtime in between can only mean thing: It’s time for the 2009 Best of Halo Awards! Covering everything from the most entertaining video to the best resource website to everybody’s favorite multiplayer map, the Best of Halo Awards attempts to honor those items and individuals that have made a significant impact on the collective Halo community.

While I’m incredibly immersed in anything and everything Master Chief-related, some things do manage to escape my attention so that is where you come in. From now until December 23rd, I am officially accepting nominations for all ten categories involved in these awards. That gives you an entire week to ponder your preferred choices. When you make your nominations in the form of a comment, please remember this is for the year 2009 only meaning potential video nominations must have been made and released in 2009, all screenshot nominations must have been taken in 2009, and eligible news must have occurred in 2009. Please note that if somebody else has already mentioned the same thing you were going to point out, go ahead and call my attention to it again. The more referrals I receive for each individual item, the closer I will look at it for consideration. After the jump you will find the specific categories with a few examples for clarification purposes. If you have any questions, please ask them. Otherwise, get to nominating already!

a new title in the Halo series, the premiere of a trailer, the release of a new map pack, etc

a website that provides a service that improves upon the general Halo experience

an individual who strives to make a consistent and positive impact on the Halo community

a video which uses editing, special effects and music to present interesting Halo gameplay

a regular ongoing series of videos produced using resources available within the Halo engine

a single video episode produced using resources available within the Halo engine

an unaltered image taken in Halo 3’s theater mode (must be available on Bungie.net)

the most hospitable place to hang your hat and talk about Halo

Halo-related armor, cosplay, comics, programs, art, etc

must be a map available in ODST’s Firefight mode

*As the person coordinating these awards, nothing I am associated with is eligible to be nominated (as if there’s anything that could beat Spartan Pr0n anyways!). Official nominees will be announced on December 30th. Voting will take place December 30th – January 6th. View last year’s winners here!
